The Touring Broadway Awards® presented by The Broadway League, established in 2000, are the first national awards to recognize Touring Broadway. League presenters representing over 240 markets act as a blue-ribbon panel to select award recipients from their Broadway Series.
The Awards will be held Monday, April 14th at 6:00 p.m. at the Hilton New York
Oscar nominated Chazz Palminteri, writer and star of A Bronx Tale along with Rondi Reed, Madeleine Martin, and Amy Morton, current stars of the Pulitzer Prize winning drama August: Osage County and Jersey Boys choreographer, Sergio Trujillo, will present the awards.
The 2008 Touring Broadway Awards categories are: Best New Touring Musical, Best Touring Play, Best Design of a Touring Production, Best Musical Score of a Touring Production, Best Direction of a Touring Production, Best Choreography of a Touring Production, Best Long-Running Touring Musical (shows that have been on the road for over three years), the Touring Broadway Achievement Award (recognizing a performer, individual or organization that has shown exceptional dedication to Touring Broadway) and the Touring Broadway Audience Choice Award.
The awards kick-off the League’s 2008 Spring Road Conference (April 15-17).
