Commercial Theater Institute Now Accepting Applications For The 2014 14-Week Program February 10 - May 19, 2014

The Commercial Theater Institute (CTI) is now accepting applications for the next 14-week program which will take place on Monday evenings from 7:00pm - 10:00pm between February 10 and May 19, 2014. The entire seminar and course schedule will be announced soon.

The 14-week seminar presents a comprehensive look at the many aspects of theatrical producing in commercial theater. It will offer detailed immersion in budgeting, traditional and digital marketing, legal aspects, the creative side, and many other topics relevant to producing. The courses will be led by some of the most successful producers on Broadway and many of their distinguished colleagues.

Admission is limited to 25 participants who must be nominated by a working management member of the professional theatre community. Applications are available on the website and are due Monday, January 13, 2014.

Tom Viertel, Executive Director of CTI, comments, "The 14-week seminar is at the heart of CTI. A select group of 25 aspiring producers will get to hear from and interact with theater owners, Tony Awardâ - winning producers and creative teams, advertising, marketing and financial executives. They'll learn about every aspect of producing - from legal issues to script development -- all taught by working professionals. It's exciting and rewarding - alumni of the 14-week program have produced many of Broadway's biggest hits."

"What I learned at CTI proved invaluable to me. I attended when I was just starting out, and had the opportunity to hear from the best and brightest in the business, from every discipline. It also provided many beneficial networking opportunities. I recommend it to anyone who wants to pursue a theatrical producing career," said Jill Furman, Producer (Rodgers + Hammerstein's Cinderella, West Side Story, In the Heights)
