(New York, June 1, 2006) A host of celebrities, including Cynthia Nixon, Lucie Arnaz, Jonathan Pryce, Oliver Platt, Ian McDiarmid, Kate Burton, Judy Kaye, Sutton Foster, and Pop Idol’s Darlene Love, will appear at BROADWAY’S STARS IN THE ALLEY on June 7 at 11a.m. Presented by Continental Airlines, the free concert, which is held annually in Shubert Alley*, celebrates the end of the theatre season with musical numbers from Broadway’s biggest shows.

This year’s concert will feature performances from Avenue Q, Chicago, The Color Purple, The Drowsy Chaperone, Hairspray, Jersey Boys, The Light in the Piazza, Mamma Mia!, The Phantom of the Opera, The Producers, Rent, Spamalot, Sweeney Todd, The Wedding Singer, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and more. Cast members from the following shows will also be appearing at the event: Awake and Sing, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Doubt, Faith Healer, The History Boys, The Lieutenant of Inishmore, Shining City and Wicked. (All performances/appearances are subject to change) A raffle will be held during the concert giving one lucky audience member the chance to win a Broadway prize package.

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels’ Lucie Arnaz and Jonathan Pryce will present the annual Star award, which recognizes an individual in public or government service who has demonstrated significant support for Broadway. This year’s award is being presented to Christine C. Quinn, Speaker of the City Council.
