NYC & Company Announces Broadway Week Returns September 1-14 2014

NYC & Company, New York City's official marketing, tourism and partnership organization, today announced that Broadway Week will return this fall September 1-14. Broadway Week gives theatergoers the opportunity to purchase two-for-one tickets to 21 of Broadway's top shows for performances September 1-14. Tickets will go on sale starting at 10:30am on August 18 at nycgo.com/broadwayweek.

"Attending a Broadway performance is an iconic New York City experience, and Broadway Week is the perfect opportunity to visit the theater," said Fred Dixon, president and CEO of NYC & Company. "There is no better time to see a Broadway show than during Broadway Week, and we encourage both New Yorkers and visitors to take advantage of the two-for-one value offer."

Savvy New Yorkers know how to find the best value offers, and they've embraced NYC & Company's popular Broadway Week program that offers 2-for-1 tickets to participating shows," said Charlotte St. Martin, Executive Director of the Broadway League. Broadway Week participants this fall include the award-winning shows Aladdin and A Gentleman's Guide to Love & Murder. New participants include the anticipated productions of The Country House, This is Our Youth and You Can't Take It With You, in addition to Cabaret, If/Then and Les Misérables.

More than 460,000 two-for-one theater tickets have been sold to date through NYC & Company's Broadway Week promotion, generating more than $30 million in revenue since the semiannual campaign was launched in January 2011.

Consumers can enter the Official Broadway Week Sweepstakes, powered by Audience Rewards, for the opportunity to win dinner at Victor's Cafe and tickets to a Broadway show of their choice for the winner and five friends. Amtrak Guest Rewards members can also take advantage of earning 100 Amtrak Guest Rewards points per Broadway Week ticket purchased during the promotion.

Broadway Week will be promoted through bus shelters and street pole banners across the five boroughs; social media posts highlighting the promotion; Taxi TV commercials running in NYC taxi cabs; advertising at Metro-North stations targeting New Yorkers to take Metro-North to Broadway Week; and air radio spots on Radio Disney encouraging parents to bring their children to Broadway Week.
