International Producing
Friday, October 23: 10am - 6pm
This course, taught by producers and general managers with extensive experience in multiple markets (including the UK) will introduce participants to the ins and outs of producing overseas.
The Flop House
Wednesday, October 28: 7pm - 9pm
Back by popular demand, The Flop House is a chance to hear how Broadway's top producers have coped with a flop and how they have used their experiences as a source of strength (or not).
The Vocabulary of Producing
Friday, November 6: 10am - 6pm
This session will define the main terms that regularly crop up in the course of producing and running a show including legal, financial, advertising, technical and touring vocabulary.
The Development Process
Friday, November 20: 10am - 6pm
An exploration of the various steps in developing a new play or musical, this seminar gives an understanding of union contracts, how to budget costs, and who to invite at each stage of the development process.
Touring 101
Friday, December 4: 10am - 6pm
This seminar is a basic guide to producing a U.S. tour and will provide insights from producers, general managers, local presenters and booking agents discussing the nuances of taking a show on the road.
SPRING 2016 PROGRAMS:
CTI 14 Week Program: Advanced Topics for Commercial Producers and Managers
Mondays from January 18 to May 2: 7pm - 10pm
This discussion-based and interactive course will provide a well-rounded understanding of the ins-and-outs of producing, introduce cutting edge developments in commercial theater and offer indispensable networking opportunities with successful producers, theater owners, creative teams and advertising and marketing executives.
Admission is limited to 27 participants who must be nominated by a working management member of the professional theater community. Applications are available (click here) and are due no later than Monday, December 7th at 6:00PM.
3-Day NY Weekend Intensive: An Introduction to Commercial Producing
Friday, April 15 - Sunday, April 17
This program, held each spring for 35 years, gives a comprehensive overview of producing for the commercial theater. Presentations and panel discussions bring together Broadway's most acclaimed producers, early career producers, general managers, entertainment attorneys, press representatives, advertising and marketing directors.

TOM VIERTEL has produced a wide range of plays and musicals on and off Broadway, in London and on tour for more than 30 years. Shows include: Penn and Teller: Back on Broadway, Hairspray, The Producers, A Little Night Music, Young Frankenstein, Leap of Faith, The Norman Conquests, Gypsy, Sweeney Todd, Company, Little Shop of Horrors, The Weir, The Sound of Music, Smokey Joe's Café, Angels in America, Oleanna, Love Letters, Driving Miss Daisy, Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune, and many others. He has won the Tony Award six times and the Oliver Award twice. With his partners, Richard Frankel, Steven Baruch, and Marc Routh, he is a co-owner of Feinstein's/54 Below, Broadway's supper club. Mr. Viertel is a member of the Tony Management Committee and Chairman of the Broadway League's Government Relations Committee. He is Chairman of the Board of The Eugene O'Neill Theater Center, America's foremost development center for new theatrical work, in Waterford, Connecticut. He is a graduate of Harvard University.
