Tony® award-nominated Broadway producer, Jeffrey Finn, will be presented The Commercial Theater Institute's Robert Whitehead Award for "outstanding achievement in commercial theatre producing" at a reception at Sardi's on Wednesday, March 6, 2013.

CTI is the nation's only formal program, which professionally trains commercial theatre producers. A joint project of The Broadway League and Theatre Development Fund, CTI was founded in 1981 by the late Frederic B. Vogel. The current program director, Jed Bernstein, took on leadership of the program in 2006. The five decade long career of legendary producer Robert Whitehead, who died in 2002, inspired this award. The Commercial Theater Institute presented the first Robert Whitehead Award in 1993 to Benjamin Mordecai and Susan Quint Gallin.

Mr. Finn's award will be presented by award-winning directors Jack O'Brien and Sam Gold.

Jeffrey Finn has produced eight Broadway productions. His first, a revival of On Golden Pond, starring James Earl Jones and Leslie Uggams, was nominated for a Tony® Award for "Best Revival." He followed this with productions of Blithe Spirit, Oleanna and A View from the Bridge (which won a 2012 Drama Desk Award as well as his second Tony Award nomination). In addition to producing Theresa Rebeck's plays Seminar and Dead Accounts, Mr. Finn produced the musicals American Idiot (his third Tony Award nominated production) andScandalous. He has also produced productions Off-Broadway, as well as national tours including The Who's Tommy andThe Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber, and numerous Broadway Songbook concert tours. Current projects include the new play I'll Eat You Last starring Bette Midler and the new musical The Honeymooners based on the classic CBS sitcom.

Jeffrey Finn Productions also has a thriving corporate entertainment division, Hot on Broadway. Working exclusively with performers from current Broadway shows, Hot on Broadway delivers premium entertainment at corporate meetings, product launches, fundraisers, galas and special events for many Fortune 500 companies.

The Commercial Theater Institute presented the first Robert Whitehead Award in 1993 to Benjamin Mordecai (seven August Wilson plays on Broadway) and Susan Quint Gallin (Angels in America, Monty Python's Spamalot). Wreghitt (The Miracle Worker, Grey Gardens) in 1996;Marc Routh (A Little Night Music, The Norman Conquests) in 1997; Liz Oliver (Wait Until Dark,Last Night of Ballyhoo) in 1998; Eric Krebs (The Dinner Party, Electra) in 1999;Anne Strickland Squadron (Bill Maher: Victory Begins at Home, The Herbal Bed) in 2000; David Binder (A Raisin in the Sun, 33 Variations) in 2004; Nick Scandalios (Executive VP of the Nederlander Organization:Wicked, In the Heights) in 2008; Dori Berinstein (Legally Blonde: The Musical, Thoroughly Modern Millie) in 2009;Stuart Thompson (A View from the Bridge, God of Carnage) in 2010; Jill Furman ( In the Heights, West Side Story) in 2011; and Jon B. Platt (Book of Mormon, Venus in Fur) in 2012.
