BROADWAY’S BIGGEST FAN COMPETITION AND THE
BROADWAY FAN ZONE
(New York, NY – August 6, 2007) – The League of American Theatres and Producers and The Times Square Alliance presents the 16th Annual Broadway on Broadway on Sunday, September 16 at 11:30 a.m. The annual free outdoor concert brings together stars and performances from current Broadway productions to celebrate the beginning of the new season.
Broadway on Broadway features performances and appearances by cast members from Broadway’s most popular musicals and plays, including recent Tony Award® winners and nominees. Participating shows will be announced soon. The event features a grand finale with a rain of confetti. Fans should arrive early for a good spot in the 50,000-plus crowd.
Broadway fans will have the spotlight at this year's concert, which, for the first time ever, will feature the Broadway’s Biggest Fan competition. Fans can submit a (60) second video showing why they are Broadway’s biggest fan. The winning videos will be broadcast on a jumbo screen in Times Square in-front of a crowd of thousands.
Broadway Fan Zone will also make its debut this year, giving fans an opportunity to enjoy the concert from a VIP area right near the stage. An up-close and personal standing room section will be made available to the first 100 fans that arrive dressed as their favorite Broadway character. Broadway’s Biggest Fan Entry Details
ARE YOU BROADWAY’S BIGGEST FAN? For the first time ever, Broadway theatre-lovers are invited to submit (60) second videos showing why they are Broadway’s Biggest Fan. Entries will be accepted from now until August 20, and the finalists will be judged online by fans based on creativity, originality, and passion for Broadway. Three finalists will be flown to New York City with a guest, put up in a Times Square Hotel, and receive 2 tickets to a Broadway show and 2 VIP On-Stage tickets to Broadway on Broadway. Their videos will be shown in front of the 50,000-plus fans that will choose the 1st place winner by showing their enthusiasm for their favorite video.
