Charlotte St. Martin, Executive Director, The League of American Theatres and Producers, commented on the appointment of Mr. Ferrugia: “We are delighted that Thomas Ferrugia has become a part of our organization. His experience and knowledge of the workings of government will help us to develop and maintain an environment at all governmental levels that will be essential in representing and furthering our industry’s goals.”

Most recently, Mr. Ferrugia was a legislative attorney with the Division of Governmental Affairs at the New York City Council. In that capacity, he served as counsel to the subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations and the standing committees on Juvenile Justice and Consumer Affairs. His responsibilities included researching and drafting local legislation, preparing his committees' state and federal agendas, negotiating bills with City agencies, lobbying groups and other interested parties, and organizing public hearings.

Mr. Ferrugia has worked on some of the issues directly relating to the Broadway industry, including street vendor legislation, pedicab licensing and the unauthorized recording of live performances.

Prior to his employment with the New York City Council, Mr. Ferrugia was a Law Clerk to two Justices of the New York Supreme Court. Before working for the court system, Mr. Ferrugia was an associate at Manton, Sweeney, Gallo, Reich & Boltz, L.L.P.

Mr. Ferrugia is a graduate of Fordham University School of Law and St. Johns University, where he received a B.S in Criminal Justice. He is a native of New York City, and currently resides in Forest Hills, New York.
